I live in Devon and work for the Met Office.

I have a PhD in Climate Modelling. During my research I worked on an open-source idealised-climate model Isca, a fork of the GFDL climate modelling system. I no longer work in primary research, but maintain an interest in the weather and climate. You can see some of my experiments with visualising weather and climate data here.

Both at work and in my spare time I work on open-source software - mostly in Python but increasingly in JavaScript and TypeScript too. You can talk to me about software development on GitHub @jamesp.
